More entertaining in many ways than the previous film, this tells the story of Katagiri Munezo, a low-ranking retainer of the Unasaka Clan located on the northwest coast of Japan's main island.

The introduction of modern warfare tactics are disputed by some of the old-line samurai, and when a clan member is charged with plotting to overthrow the shogunate, it falls upon Katagiri as the clan's strongest swordsman to execute the rebel. Ironically, his former dojo brother and the only one to ever beat him in a match.
