Tange Sazen, loyal vassal of Nakamura Daizen, daimyo of Soma clan, would dare any danger to serve his lord. So when Lord Daizen coveted the priceless heirloom swords named Konryu and Kenun, belonging to Tessai dojo, Sazen turned to thievery and murder, pitting himself against all the swords of Tessai dojo and all the forces of the law. But Tange Sazen, scarred and mutilated in his deadly struggles to seize these prized swords, tossed aside and betrayed by the very lord he worshipped, would learn that samurai loyalty was a one-way street, and soon he was destined to become the famous One-Eyed, One-Armed Swordsman, vagabond for life.
