Young Maiko stands at a crossroads. Failing to find a career path, she’s resigned to marrying for security. In Kyoto she stumbles onto Honno-ji Hotel, named for the temple where Oda Nobunaga on his path to conquering Japan was betrayed and destroyed by Akechi Mitsuhide. Through an eerie conjunction of time and space she travels to 1582, meeting Oda Nobunaga and his entourage at Honno-ji one day before Mitsuhide will attack. Terrified at first, she finds a strange kinship with her host. History’s fiercest warlord shows a thoughtful, even tender side. Will Maiko tamper with history by warning Nobunaga?
