Can a flower kill a man? Tabuki Yajuro, samurai of the Date clan, knows it can when a seemingly harmless flower competition becomes a political chess game, leading to suicide, espionage, and murder. Yajuro’s father will commit hara-kiri for nothing more than raising a flower that’s derided by the elder shogun. Yajuro travels into hostile Kumamoto clan territory to uncover the mystery of Kumamoto’s Higo Iris, winner of the tainted contest and confronts a beautiful woman who seems to know its secret. When his clan turns against him, he’ll have to cross swords with the deadliest blade in Kumamoto and face bloody betrayal, fighting for his life against his own clansmen.
