THE THIEF & THE YOUNG LORD

Denkuro the thief, stumbles into a dilapidated mansion and finds Nobu, a young samurai. Befriending the helpless young man, he decides to feed and help the lad. Then a young girl named Chigusa arrives, telling Nobu the lord of the castle is dead. Nobu is, in fact, Narinobu, second son of the Umezu clan’s lord. Nobu has resigned himself to exile, escaping the never-ending fight over the succession. Drawn from the novel of the same name, by Yamamato Shugoro, The Thief and the Lord depicts the strange friendship between a thief and the heir to a samurai clan.

SAMURAI DEATH SENTENCE

A cowardly samurai, laughed at by his family and friends, fears he’ll never be brave enough to succeed. Spurred on by his sister, he volunteers to be an assassin. But his intended victim turns out to be his sword instructor. He resigns himself to death.But the quick thinking of a female companion helps him escape his fate. This gives him an idea…an ingenious plan that will lead him to a showdown, in which his life will once again hang in the balance.
