The adventures of Aoi Shingo

SHINGO'S CHALLENGE part 1 (Shingo Ni-Juban Shobu)
One of the most popular film series
from the early 1960’s has finally made it to DVD with English
subtitles. With plenty of action, and a strong story about the
growth and development of an expert swordsman, who just happens to
be from an extremely privileged background. Aoi Shingo is the son of
the Shogun, but he has never met his father. As a child in many ways
isolated from his parents, he made an early decision to take on the
solitary lifestyle of a swordsman and eventually becomes recognized
as the best swordsman in Japan.

THE FIRST BLOOM (Hatsutsubomi)
Japanese TV drama based on the novel by
YAMAMOTO Shugoro. The title roughly means 'The First Bloom'. Otami is an
orphan working in a restaurant. She has been having an affair with a
young samurai Hannosuke, although both know they can't marry because
they belong to different classes. When Otami knows she is pregnant, she
tries to hide it because she doesn't want to cause any trouble to
Hannosuke. But her close friends persuade her to tell it to him...

TALES OF YOUNG GENJI KURO (Genji Kuro Sassoki Nuregami Nitoryu)

Otsubo Family seeks to reunite it with its companion "Suien"
sword at Mishima Shrine. However the journey to the Shrine is
wrought with danger and Genji Kuro must put his skills to the

YOUNG LORD YAKUZA

This is the exciting tale of Young Lord Taihei, who
disguises himself as a ronin and goes to Edo to find
the lost family treasure, a plover incense burner.
With a series of complex plot twists and violent
sword action this film was made during the Golden
Era of Toei Studios. Their immense popularity during
this time period gave birth to literally hundreds of
superb samurai films. This is one of the best of the
lot, and features some of the greatest stars of the
era.
